As a Mission Planner, you’ll participate in monitoring and controlling ground systems at the Operations Center in Huntsville, AL. You will work 12-hour shifts with a team in a 24-hour, multi-satellite operations environment. This position requires an active/current Top Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
What You’ll Do:
- Perform the scheduling of all satellite and ground resources to accomplish mission objectives; perform activity deconfliction, resource allocation, and determine optimal load balancing for traffic on the network
- Create, validate, and distribute all necessary products for the network including satellite and ground site schedules, antenna acquisition tables, and satellite routing almanacs
- Work closely with other teams to incorporate and deconflict maintenance events and special scheduling tasks
- Take an active role in the development and maintenance of Mission Planning procedures
- Continuously look for ways to improve tools and processes for streamlined operations

As a Systems Engineer, you will work autonomously, participating in system requirements analysis, decomposition and management, functional and performance analysis, system design, system integration, as well as troubleshooting of network systems, providing significant value to the team. This position will be located either at our TSC location in Chandler, AZ or our HQ location in McLean, VA.

What We’re Looking For:
Iridium is seeking a motivated System Engineer to join our 3GPP Services Team. As the Service Link System Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the development of the SV-UE service link and implementation of the OBP waveforms. Additional responsibilities will include performing RF/RFI systems analysis and simulations, as well as development & maintenance of the required service link budgets. In this role, your primary focus will be all technical aspects of the architecture and design of given projects. You’ll be successful in this role if you have extensive experience in Systems Engineering and in-depth knowledge of both space and ground networks.

- Ensure system engineering best practices and processes are applied to ground and payload controller systems developed for various external projects
- Be responsible for exercising technical authority over areas assigned and work closely with the Program Management Office to determine resource needs, technical development schedules and major milestones
