What We’re Looking For:   As the Satellite Flight Controller, you will be part of a team maintaining real time operations, monitoring, and command and control of the Iridium satellite constellation at the Iridium Satellite Network Operations Center. In this role, you will work 12-hour shifts in a 24-hour multi-satellite operations environment.  You will thrive in this role if you are highly motivated, as you will be tasked with learning a very complex ground and space system in support of Iridium.   What You’ll Do: - Perform real-time commanding of the Iridium Satellite constellation, independently recognizing and resolving issues that arise - Execute and perform telemetry verification of all satellite commanding performed in support of controlling the Iridium Satellite constellation - Create, review, and execute real-time spacecraft commanding pass plans and coordinate their execution as part of routine and/or new operations, and anomaly resolution activities - Perform real-time satellite state of health evaluation, trending, and analysis for first level satellite sub-system engineering troubleshooting - Conduct satellite software uploads and switch-overs to the updated software, verifying the integrity of all products and commands loaded to the spacecraft - Independently perform real-time anomaly investigation and resolution and follow established and/or new Fault Escalation policies and procedures - Independently perform process improvement initiatives by properly documenting all satellite events through the anomaly and issue reporting process, and driving procedure development and reviews, with guidance - Create accurate, timely, and descriptive satellite event logging for all satellite or system events - Responsible for maintaining and updating operational work products, including assigned operations checklists, procedures, and/or software tools - Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve day to day operational and system issues with limited assistance or guidance - Assist and mentor junior members of the operations team
