The Senior Systems Engineer contractor will participate in the support of Iridium US Government communications projects. In this position you will also participate in the full lifecycle of these communication services, including end user equipment (and/or customer-built devices), customer/mission requirements and needs, directing Iridium development activities as it pertains to design elements and engineering. The Senior Systems Engineer contractor will also perform systems engineering planning, scheduling, and execution to include requirements definition, allocation, system design, analyses and trade studies, hardware/software design oversight, system I&T and system verification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties associated with this position are to lead systems engineering efforts on assigned projects associated with development of services and capabilities for the US Government on the Iridium satellite constellation. This will involve both technical and programmatic teamwork with Iridium customers, Iridium personnel and other Iridium contractors. These duties will be performed according to company processes and integrating internal and external efforts into a coherent overall project involving risk, schedule, deliverables and cost objectives:

We are offering an opportunity to be part Iridium's Program Management Office (PMO) as a Contract Program Controller (PC)/Tool Administrator. As a contract PC/Tool Administrator, you will assist with the maintenance of the current PMO tool suite which includes, but is not limited to: MS Project PPM/PWA, SharePoint, DocuShare, etc. In addition, the contractor should have a solid knowledge of Project Management to provide support for project execution within scope, schedule and budget to include, but not limited to: develop, monitor, track, analyze, forecast, and report on project budgets, estimates to complete, commitments, expenditures, project progress and productivity, work plans and schedules, projects cost at completion and change management. The contractor will support one or more project managers during the full life-cycle of various Government projects from idea through closeout, to include providing schedule and pricing input to proposals.
Job Requirements:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of user accounts and track license usage for various PMO tools
- Assist in the creation of MS Project PPM and Power BI reports, keeping the reports up to date
- Update weekly status for complex project schedules including critical path analysis, milestone variance, look ahead, and baseline vs. actual reports
- Perform budget and schedule process audits to ensure compliance
- Maintain weekly project status for complex budgets including baseline vs. actual costs, variance analysis, expense authorizations, purchase order closures, etc.
- Provide recommendations to Project Manager to reduce budget and schedule risks for the project
- Generate weekly/monthly/quarterly project status slides in support of program reviews
- Gather portfolio performance data for projects, analyzing the data and reporting results

Summary:
**This is a part-time/temporary intern position. The selected student will work within a team environment. They will be required to perform multiple duties related to operations and maintenance of the Iridium Satellite tracking ground station. Responsible for routinely performing maintenance and analysis on RF, Electronic and Mechanical systems and subsystem. Data Analysis will require the successful candidate to retrieve various logs from both computer platform systems and network based UNIX servers for processing and generate statistical reports used to gauge the performance of the ground station.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific Duties include, but are not be limited to:
- Remove and replace failed or suspect equipment – Antenna and Rack
- Facilities maintenance – routine visual inspections of facilities equipment (UPS, Generator) and logging of findings.
- Antenna RF uplink data collection for calibrations

- System Log collection and production of the raw data for statistical analysis.
- Monthly Preventative Maintenance on the Antenna Tracking Pedestals
- Snow removal from the antenna radomes (as needed)

The intern will be involved in research centered around key industries, cities, and customers that Iridium supports. Research will include external sources as well as internal historical data and contracts. In addition to gathering, organizing, and updating data, intern will help design templates for future sales collateral.

We are offering the opportunity to be experience the daily operations of our Satellite Network Operations Center (SNOC) through a summer internship with the Engineering team. As part of the internship program you will have the opportunity to work with the Space Systems, Payload Management and Satellite Operations and Ground Development departments. Intern will learn many aspects of Space Vehicle operations from the engineering perspective. They will work with Platform engineers to develop operations products which can be used for training, data analysis, investigation, and anomaly recovery. Intern will work with experts and users. Furthermore, they will assist in the maintenance of our suite of Real Time Operations software tools.

Summary:
This position is responsible for the support of end user requests and issues, providing intermediate level troubleshooting and remediation support for the Iridium IT Help Desk working in cooperation with System Administrators, Network Engineering, and Technical Operation Teams to provide secure LAN and WAN connectivity for systems and end users.

The objective is for the candidate to help the Iridium Next Satellite Control (NSC) team develop and enhance regression test suites, which support the automated and rapid development of code changes.
