Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

Iridium is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will assist with the overall finacial support of the organization. In this role, you will focus primarily supporting processes for our domestic and international entities. You will thrive in this role if you are familiar with a variety of accounting principles, practices, and procedues, as well as the ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for performing many monthly accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations and financial analsysis.
  • Support international accounting efforts by working collaboratively with local accountants to address accounting related matters, review cash flow requirements dor local entities and facilitate the transfer of cash, and support preparation regulatory filings.
  • Compile and analyze financial information within Excel spreadsheets.
  • Maintain understanding of compliance with GAAP, SOX controls and the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Significant participation in internal controls.
  • Review accounting system data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with data requests for financial statement and SOX audits.
  • Maintenance of system data related to vendors and customers.
  • Prepare accounting system reports for management.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present clearly to others
  • Have confidence and be able to easily build meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team
  • Must be able to prioritize your tasks, be self-aware enough to identify and correct your mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed
  • Be active in seeking out ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others 
  • The willingness to look for opportunities to take initiative and identify ways to add value through innovative solutions.

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

  • Public Accountant Certification

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
