What We’re Looking For:
If you are experienced in government business development within the defense industry and have 10+ years of experience, then you will be excited about the Senior Government Solutions Manager opening with Iridium. As a Senior Government Solutions Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing multiple activities and projects, including those with cross-functional teams, to expand the delivery of Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) services to the US government. In this role, you will focus primarily on capturing business to accelerate the growth of the rapidly growing PNT business, managing logistical details, overseeing government contracts, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders within the within the PNT organization. You will thrive in this role if you are detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and excel in facilitating operational execution that supports strategic goals.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and manage strategies for capturing new business and revenue for Defense and Security, to include both U.S. (Army, EUCOM, CENTCOM, and AFRICOM) and international pursuits (Europe and the Middle East)
Bring thought leadership, expertise, and deep experience in solution sales to inform and guide business strategy
Build defense and prime contractor customer and strategic partner relationships to evolve current campaigns
Assess domestic governmental business opportunities, develop our portfolio to support our business strategy, and close deals across the defense and security industry
Support and/or lead technical discussions with industry partners and translate their needs to the internal product development teams
Partner and work closely with customers to better understand and anticipate their needs
Formulate requirements for new product ideas and knowledge into recommendations to meet customer needs
Contact prospective customers to build relationships, advise of new products or offerings, and support team in resolving issues
Increase USG sales for development and support contracts to the US Government in support of PNT programs
Prepare account plans/proposal strategies and assume responsibility for the implementation of plans for new PNT services offered
Plan and participate in technical/product presentations, demonstrations, and trade shows
Work closely across all internal organizations to build productive relationships and leverage them to influence decisions that drive results supporting the business objectives
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
10+ years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry
A strong foundation in operational processes, with an interest in learning about market dynamics, satellite-related products, and military tactical communications
Experience in supporting the delivery of services to the US Government or in an operational role within a related field
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques

Work Environment:
This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
