Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

The Iridium Internship Program is an opportunity for students to be a part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications. As an Intern, you’ll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 27, 2025 to August 15, 2025. During the program, interns will have the opportunity to provide valuable support to an Iridium department on a project or important work assignment. Interns will also be provided an opportunity to engage with senior leadership and fellow interns via regular engagement activities. Interns will participate in an end of internship presentation, where we ask them to reflect on their summer internships and present a summary of what they have learned and accomplished.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Iridium is seeking a highly motivated individual with an interest in Project Management and Satellite Communication Technology to work in our fast paced environment. If this is you, Iridium has an exciting opportunity for an Project Management Intern to join our Gateway Development Team. In this role, you will participate in assignments, focusing on project planning and oversight for key projects in the Iridium Gateway. What You’ll Do:

  • Learn about planning and managing Satellite Communications projects that are supported through the Iridium Gateway
  • Work with other project management team members in the organization, monitoring and execution phases on specific projects
  • Perform planning functions using a variety of tools (e.g. Jira for task management, Microsoft Office tools (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint))
  • Apply project management best practices and processes in the planning of projects in the Iridium Gateway

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

Things You Must Bring to the Table:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be eligible to work in person
