Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

The Iridium Internship Program is an opportunity for students to be a part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications. As an Intern, you’ll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024. During the program, interns will have the opportunity to provide valuable support to an Iridium department on a project or important work assignment. Interns will also be provided an opportunity to engage with senior leadership and fellow interns via regular engagement activities. Interns will participate in an end of internship presentation, where we ask them to reflect on their summer internships and present a summary of what they have learned and accomplished.

 

What We're Looking For:

 

The Iridium Billing Development team is seeking a bright intern to join their team. As part of yearly billing operations systems development and release cycles, new features will be built in Billing, Provisioning and the Front End application. As a member of the team you will have a great opportunity to understand the concepts of an Operations Support System and Business Support System. You will also be able to work in and gain experience in an agile development, and have an opportunity to further your knowledge with Unix, C, C++, SQL, Oracle technologies.

 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Develop solutions for application part of the OSS/BSS stack
  • Develop end-to-end IT solutions for projects, integrating multiple systems ensuring that designs adhere to agreed design standards and methods
  • Work with other application developers in team to ensure the coherency of end-to-end development
  • Develop the Integrated solution involving multiple systems throughout the project life-cycle through to deployment, ensuring that any defects are identified and resolved throughout the process
  • Participate in different Agile ceremonies like daily scrum calls, grooming.

Skills You'll Obtain:

  • Get a good knowledge of Operations Support System and Business Support System domains.
  • Understand the typical telecommunications provisioning concepts.
  • Scripting language Python, Perl
  • Gitlab
  • Jira
  • SOAP, Rest API
  • AWS or other cloud technologies

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

Things You Must Bring to the Table:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Computer Science bachelors or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution
  • Must be eligible to work in the US
  • Must be eligible to work in person
