Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

Looking for a meaningful internship opportunity that will give you real-world experience and help you grow as a professional? Look no further than the Iridium Internship Program where you will be an integral part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications! The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024. As an Iridium Intern, you’ll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! During the program, come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. Our Interns are offered a unique opportunity to provide valuable support to Iridium on projects and work assignments as well as the chance to participate in exciting activities that will allow you to connect with senior leadership and fellow interns.

 

What We’re Looking For:

The Iridium Human Resources team is seeking a bright intern who will directly assist the Human Resources team with a wide range of projects related to employee policies, recognition, compensation, onboarding/orientation, process automation, and special projects. You will gain a better understanding of the role that HR can play in an organization and be better equipped to later transition into a role in HR by developing a strong understanding of what HR is and what the team is responsible for. You will also have opportunities to network with other corporate functions in the office.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate current Human Resources processes and support the implementation of improvements to streamline and gain efficiency
  • Research best practices for current or proposed programs and initiatives; assist with the development of new programs and/or policies to meet departmental objectives
  • Prepare and edit presentations and documentation for HR initiatives, events, or deliverables
  • Execute miscellaneous projects that involve preparation and analysis of system data

Skills You’ll Obtain:

  • Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projects
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of an HR department
  • Direct experience with various HR tools including iCIMS, ADP, Culture Amp, etc.
  • Working in and contributing to a team environment
  • Organization, time management, and project management
  • Ability to tailor your communication style to a variety of audiences

Things You Must Bring to the Table:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelors or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution ( Human Resources, Business, or a related field)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be eligible to work in person
