Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

Iridium is seeking an experienced, results-driven Business Applications professional to lead the Business Applications team. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include business applications management, operational planning, and vendor collaboration/management. You will manage a high-performing team that is responsible for operations management and development/implementation of Sales, Supply Chain, and IT Workflow, and Facilities business applications. Our ideal candidate has proven strengths and leadership experience in IT Operations, Project Management, Application Management and Business Analysis, and has a natural ability to communicate, motivate, and collaborate with team members, technical leads, business owners, and leadership at all levels of the organization.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Foster and develop a highly effective team by clearly and effectively communicating performance expectations; plans, monitors, and consistently provides feedback on performance
  • Mentor and train your team by performing regular check-ins, discussing career growth opportunities, giving constructive feedback, and managing conflict when necessary
  • Work closely with Sales, IT, Facilities, and Supply Chain to identify and provide solutions to meet business requirements and/or resolve technical issues with the supported applications
  • Responsible for the effective development and implementation of programs, systems, and applications, ensuring that all software applications meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with operational and application stakeholders, end users, and other IT staff to prioritize projects
  • Identify operational strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas for improvement, especially as they relate to technology
  • Manage and oversees operational planning, design, implementation, and documentation of all business system and application upgrades within their responsible area
  • Facilitate planning sessions and training programs for new business system deployment; ensure implementation and test plans are carried out in support major deliverables and applications

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Management Information Systems, or related discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in the Information Technology field, with progressive responsibilities, is required
  • Experience working with business users to establish priorities and manage expectations
  • Extensive knowledge of IT policies, standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Capable of being a strong motivator and source of direction for your team and role modelling commitment to your team’s goals
  • Have a people-oriented mentality and be able to build meaningful relationships with senior leadership on your team and in other departments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques
  • Be able to analyze and understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions, come up with and evaluate unique solutions, and see those solutions through to completion
  • Be independent and self-motivated and demonstrate a high degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • Have a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion and be motivated to achieve outcomes and results
  • Can thrive in a dynamic environment and efficiently manage multiple or complex projects while continuously looking for new and enhanced ways of doing things

 

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

  • Proven track record for delivering consistent results of high-quality and on time deliveries
  • Any relevant, current industry certifications are a plus
  • Experience with programming languages is a plus
