    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

    Internship Summary:


    As an intern in the Iridium Finance Department, you will work on a variety of finance, strategy, and accounting projects. You will learn about the financial, accounting, and strategic issues faced by a publicly traded satellite communications company. The individual will gain hands on experience in the following key areas: financial analysis required to plan and budget for the future, the accounting decisions required to support public financial disclosures, and  the key trends and market players in the space and satellite marketplace.



    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Perform a variety of financial analyses to support an understanding of revenue and costs trends. Analysis will be used to develop executive level presentations that summarize key outputs.
    • Research trends in the satellite industry and building a comprehensive list of companies operating in the sector as well as trends in the industry.
    • Develop presentations based on underlying research.
    • Assist with the financial statement preparation in public reporting and other accounting project related work related to financial hedging of international currencies.
    • Assist in development of capital planning approval process with standardized financial model and qualitative factor consideration.

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
    • Must be enrolled in an finance or accounting degree program from an accredited university/college
    • Familiarity with aerospace and communications sectors is a plus
    • Expertise in numbers and good math skills are required.
    • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of accounting and financial analysis
    • Ability to collect, evaluate and interpret data, in both statistical and narrative form
    • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
    • Capable of preparing files and maintaining records and documentation
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Other skills required as related to problem solving, entering and verifying data.
    • Knowledge of computers, software applications ( including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and standard office equipment
