    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

    Position Summary:


    As a Human Resources Intern (Employee Services), you will directly assist the Human Resources team with a wide range of projects related to employee policies, recognition, compensation, on-boarding/orientation, process automation and special projects. You will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources can play in organization and be better equipped to later transition into a role in HR by developing a strong understanding of what HR is and what the team is responsible for. You will also have opportunities to network with other corporate functions in the office.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Evaluation of current Human Resources processes and implementation of improvements to streamline and gain efficiency.
    • Draft standard position description language; update position description templates and format existing position descriptions
    • Research and analyze best practices for current or proposed programs and initiatives against best practices; assist with the development of new programs and/or policies to meet departmental objectives
    • Assist in maintenance of HR internal shared drive
    • Prepare and edit presentations and documentation for HR initiatives, events or deliverables
    • Execute miscellaneous projects that involve analysis and preparation of system data
    • Assist with automation of manual processes

    Professional Skills to be Acquired: 

    • Project management skills
    • Critical thinking
    • Exposure to the day to day responsibilities of an HR department
    • Hands on experience with various HR tools including iCims, ADP, Compensation software, etc
    • Communication skills

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
    • Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest to work in Human Resources
    • Ability to work with sensitive data and maintain confidentiality a must
    • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to handle numerous assignments simultaneously with accuracy
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
