    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of Iridium’s billing, provisioning and reporting systems. Provides technical support to various applications that will be used for provisioning and billing/rating. Works with internal/external customers, including Sales, Tier2, Revenue Assurance, and Finance on general inquiries and system level support. Works closely with network engineers and integrates the billing and provisioning systems with network elements. This role requires 24/7 on-call support of the provisioning system.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support and maintain company’s billing system and supporting applications by writing Perl/Shell scripts and PL/SQL procedures
    • Maintain Company’s provisioning system “T-activate” and create automated UNIX/SQL scripts to correct provisioning errors
    • Support and maintain the 24/7provisioining interface and provide after-hours, overnight, and weekend on-call support
    • Troubleshoot software and provide an immediate solution to customers by analyzing Jboss logs/BRM logs; correct the code/data by creating Flists in BRM
    • Create and maintain Knowledge Base documentation for troubleshooting billing/provisioning systems problems
    • Work closely with network and security teams to implement security rules to match with Iridium Security policies
    • Recommend appropriate solutions including new tools, business process changes, and techniques to increase efficiency for the billing team
    • Troubleshoot and implement solutions in Datamart database
    • Manage billing systems support requests:
      • Work service requests daily
      • Create and update all tickets in ticketing software
      • Producing reports
      • Conduct follow-up calls
      • Conduct testing and escalate when needed
    • Administer user security for all billing/provisioning applications
    • Must be able to multi-task, pay attention to small details, and operate under extreme deadlines

    Job Requirements

    • Ability to work with functional teams to suggest automated procedures where possible and to promote rapid response to known issues
    • Familiarity with SQL querying to extract data and turn into meaningful information
    • Familiarity with Perl/Shell scripts to automate jobs
    • Work in conjunction with Iridium’s IT groups and vendors to understand, maintain, and support all billing systems environments
    • Basic understanding of telecom billing/rating
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-starter and a detail-oriented individual with attention to documenting, tracking, and prioritizing tasks
    • Solid work ethic with regular, predictable attendance

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    • Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent, relevant work experience
    • Experience in an application support role a plus
    • Familiarity with Oracle databases, UNIX, Perl/Shell and Java a plus
    • Hands-on knowledge with ReadyAPI is preferred
    • Experience with ETL tools (Informatica) is preferred
    • Experience with Control-M, AppDynamics is preferred
