    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

    Iridium is seeking a Billing & Operational Support Systems (B/OSS) Senior Business Analyst, preferably with a background in telecommunications, who will work closely with the B/OSS management team as well as our individual business owners such as Product Management, Channel Marketing and Engineering. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing complex information, developing, sharing and communicating system recommendations or alternatives to internal customers in a timely manner. The Senior Business Analyst will also be responsible for coordinating deliverables related to system enhancements; project requirements gathering and coordination between the various business owners.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for all change request transactions and enhancements
    • Work with all internal customers in a proactive manner to identify and elicit each area’s needs and opportunity for change via the enhancement process
    • Gather all business requirements; analyze and prepare high level functional requirements documents that meet the development roadmap
    • Lead efforts to prepare B/OSS development high-level design with all business rules, limitations and assumptions thoroughly documented
    • Ensure all necessary teams contribute as appropriate to the designs in a timely manner
    • Coordinate and lead document reviews and signoffs as required by the development guidelines
    • Work with Development and Operations teams for the coordination and proactive development of changes to our current system to meet new business needs
    • Lead meetings between each business area, to ensure proper prioritization of projects and deliverables on both sides have been met
    • Facilitate monthly meetings with management to review all open projects and pending production changes
    • Ensure user acceptance criteria has been agreed upon and documented prior to development
    • Coordinate communication with internal customers to make them aware and ready for new enhancement installs
    • Document roll-out schedules of new functionalities
    • Assist in troubleshooting system issues; develop workarounds and assist in resolving complex system issues that may have a negative impact on revenue and day-to-day operations
    • Other activities as deemed necessary by management

    Job Requirements:

    • Thorough understanding of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK®Guide)
    • Must be a critical thinker, especially during evaluations, and have the ability to diagnose problem areas and recommend solutions
    • Ability to work independently; initiate and lead interaction with various departments and management.
    • Must possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects
    • Experience in the telecommunications industry and understanding of telecom OSS/BSS preferred
    • Knowledge of the business products and their billing elements
    • Ability to understand the scope and functionality of the different elements of the B/OSS ecosystem
    • Ability to translate requirements into tasks for different systems
    • Ability to create High Level Requirement documents
    • Proficiency with Change Management processes
    • Must possess excellent leadership and project management skills
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent, relevant experience
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Business Analyst leading multiple efforts
    • Previous experience collaborating with Marketing, Engineering and Sales departments to strategize and organize work for new products
    • Experience in the telecommunications industry strongly preferred
