    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

    The Associate Product Manager (PM), will report to the Director & General Manager Aviation Line of Business and is responsible for supporting the development activities required for aviation. The Associate PM will perform several important roles as part of the Aviation Line of Business team, including competitive analysis of Iridium's current product and service offerings, data analytics of aviation subscribers and usage metrics, industry research on aviation market opportunity as well as support of regulatory, Iridium partner technical, and internal Iridium planning and product development discussions.

     

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Support cross-functional teams in executing tactical and strategic objectives as part of the aviation strategy
    • Perform market research and competitive analysis, including positioning, pricing/rate plans, sales strategy and market share forecast to assist in defining the strategy for the aviation product and service portfolio.
    • Support the development of marketing requirements and product specifications for the product development, network and systems operations teams to design and develop products and solutions.
    • Support the creation and/or maintenance of technical, user, and marketing documentation for internal and external use for aviation products and services
    • Support internal and external sales teams via technical presentations, sales training material, white papers, product demonstrations, and other customer engagements
    • Support the training of Iridium distribution and development partners on functional operation of Iridium products and services
    • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    Requirements

    • BS/BA Degree, (Engineering focus preferred)
    • 1-2 years experience in product management, sales engineer or business development role
    • Strong communicator (Oral, Verbal, and Written) with ability to work with and influence individuals and groups
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Strong computer skills and aptitude with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
    • Strong presentation skills and ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, vendors and partners
    • Ability to interact effectively with employees in various functions and at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to multi-task, results driven, strong sense of ownership; strong sense of urgency; ability to improvise and solve complex problems and manage with minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrated ability to proactively build and manage relationships through effective interpersonal and relationship skills
    • Proficiency in English is required, and one or more languages is preferred
    • International Travel experience is preferred

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience/understanding of aeronautical satellite communications products and/or services
