    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

    Iridium is seeking a talented and experienced Financial Systems Manager to support and administer the use of Microsoft Dynamics GP and the company’s other financial reporting applications. This position will provide overall process support of the Iridium financial accounting systems and work with Accounting and Supply Chain Management to provide the necessary reporting enhancements, technical and process support, while improving process and procedures..


    The Company utilizes several other financial system applications including the following: Prophix (Business Intelligence software for financial reporting and planning), Core Integrator (paperless accounts payable workflow), Journyx (timekeeping), CRM, Concur (expense reimbursement), Blackline (account reconciliation and month-end close tasks). The Company also uses multiple modules within Dynamics GP (General Ledger, AP, AR, Inventory, Project Accounting, Multi-currency, etc.) and related third-party applications like FastPath and SmartConnect.


    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Lead and engage with finance team members to determine system and information needs as well as process improvement areas of opportunity.
    • Manage all daily, monthly and long-range planning activities related to the financial systems and ensure these systems are meeting operational requirements.
    • Serve as primary source of escalation for all financial application process issues, performance issues, troubleshooting problems and maintenance. Monitor support incidents; follow up with internal owners of incidents to determine the status and oversee their resolution. Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been resolved.
    • Responsible for system support during the preparation of all critical financial reports including income statement, balance sheet, project reports and other reports.
    • Responsible for the maintenance, support and upgrades of Dynamics GP and all other financial reporting applications.
    • Perform extensive application testing to speed adoption of service packs and other fixes prior to all upgrades and changes.
    • Responsible for account administration and access control for all financial applications with a focus on proper segregation of duties.
    • Manage staff and vendor relationships in support of the financial applications.
    • Lead projects to implement new and enhance existing functionalities, translating requirements into effective solutions; system design, analyses and testing.
    • Analyze business processes and recommend financial system configuration best practices to support those processes.
    • Provide occasional training and system documentation to enhance end users’ system abilities and application self-service; certify new users for production system access.
    • Interact with auditors on internal controls for financial systems and maintain documentation on controls such as user access and change management.
    • Maintain awareness of new product releases and provide release notes to internal subject matter experts to determine whether/when to upgrade. 
    • Maintain data integrity of Dynamics GP system and subsystems and perform regular system housekeeping activities recommended and documented by Dynamics GP in coordination with Iridium IT department.
    • Monitor system tasks, ensuring they run as scheduled including backups, inquiry snapshot and data transfers to and from external systems in coordination with Iridium IT department.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems or related field
    • 10 to 15 progressive work experience including a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience using Dynamics GP
    • Extensive experience in a financial reporting role writing critical reports including income statement, balance sheet, etc.
    • Proven project management experience and skills with a sound understanding of project planning and tracking processes. Significant experience in translating business needs and requirements into functional technical specifications
    • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical staff. Ability to effectively prioritize in a high-pressure environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and management with a focus on listening and questioning skills.
    • Experience in establishing and maintaining system controls in support of the Company’s internal control process under Sarbanes Oxley.
    • Experience and commitment to working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with an exceptional customer service orientation.
    • Experience managing and mentoring staff as well as managing vendor relationships in support of the finance systems.
    • Dynamics GP experience up to and including certifications of the core modules. Extensive Dynamics application support experience with Internet Explorer, HTML, and knowledge of programming languages. 
    • Experience with SSRS and SSIS required. Knowledge of SQL and Dynamics table structures
    • Experience with integrations between software systems and SQL Instances 
    • Experience with Business Portal / Sharepoint is preferred. Experience with Prophix or an Analysis Server based reporting system helpful.
