    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

    This position will act as a developer within the B/OSS development team. The candidate will have primary responsibility to create reporting packages and procedures for internal and external consumption using Oracle PL/SQL. The candidate will also provide technical support as required to supplement the operations and Tier2 support teams.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Development of PL/SQL queries, packages and procedures to produce reports and search results.
    • Tuning of SQL queries used by ETL processes for performance optimization.
    • Configuration of complex logic rules and business process flows related to pricing and provisioning.
    • Prepare clear and accurate deployment instructions for operations team.
    • Support QA efforts, resolve issues and defects in a timely manner.
    • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
    • Work closely with the operations support team supporting the configuration, back office and customer service processes. 
    • Assist in the troubleshooting and assist in resolving complex system issues that may have a negative impact on revenue or customer perceptions.
    • Participates in meetings to recommend process improvements as development or customer needs dictate to enhance or maintain efficiencies for internal customers and reduce risk of revenue loss.
    • Assists with the integration, documentation and launch of new product offering.
    • Assist as necessary with user acceptance testing of billing and reporting systems as development is completed, before production roll out.
    • Other activities as deemed necessary.

    Job Requirements:

    • Thorough understanding of Agile Scrum process.
    • Must quickly establish proficiency in developing and maintaining the PL/SQL packages and procedures used for internal and external reporting functions related to the datamart, data warehouse, and billing systems.
    • Competency in PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions and queries.
    • Attention to detail and ability to follow processes and code with development standards.
    • Ability to document and build of complex logic rules and business process flows.
    • Understanding and familiarity of telecom back office, billing and revenue assurance.
    • Ability to interact with various departments and management.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, multi task and review workloads to ensure the best use of resources.
    • Must possess excellent organizational skills.

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    • 4 year degree in Business or Computer Science or equivalent related experience
    • Technical knowledge and experience in telecommunications, BSS/OSS systems (preferably Oracle BRM)
    • 3+ years of Software Development experience in an agile environment
    • 3+ years’ experience actively developing using Oracle PL/SQL packages and procedures
    • Experience in the telecommunications industry big plus
    • Ability to translate functional requirements to technical design
    • Ability to understand and follow-up on various technical issues (sizing, performance, business logic, etc.)
    • Ability thrive in a fast pace environment
