    Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities


    This position will focus on ensuring the security, availability and support of our government customers and Iridium’s operational lab networks, development networks, and perimeter systems. Candidate will focus on information assurance in design, installation and operational support of networks located at government installations; working in cooperation with Iridium Network Engineering, Gateway Technical Operations, IT and other technical resources.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ability to interface with technical teams across a variety of topics. Provide technical support on behalf of operations, development and the government customer.
    • A creative thinker and organizer with the ability to run and control meetings with a diverse audience.
    • Accountable for maintaining server and security configurations in compliance with established best practices and established baseline configurations
    • Engineering support related to security during build-out, design, migration and operation of core network components in the Iridium datacenters.
    • Understand and follow government/DoD IA security processes.
    • Maintain and follow proper Change Control and Configuration Management processes.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by management
    • Ability to work with servers, VMware, CommVault, Cisco UCS architectures, Windows, Solaris, and Linux

    Job Requirements:

    • Process IAVM’s for relevance to Iridium systems
    • Compile patch/upgrade documentation and files
    • Create and process working documents, presentations, change orders and status reports
    • Meet strict schedule requirements
    • Participate in the 24x7 on-call support when necessary
    • Apply security patches, O/S updates, and execute security scans to maintain a highly secure profile across all networking and computational systems.
    • Maintain appropriate logs, databases and history to perform trending analysis and take proactive steps to ensure the proper operation of systems
    • Maintain appropriate and current network documentation utilizing standard office/engineering tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
    • Support other departments to ensure network availability
    • Suggest improvements and seek additional training to maintain skills necessary to execute duties

    Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/MIS or combination of equivalent education and work experience/certifications.
    • 2 + years’ experience in network security administration
    • Experience in a mixed O/S, mission critical, business or technical support environment
    • Advanced understanding of network technologies including IAVA, Cyber Security, STIG, ACAS, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls, OSPF, SNMP, EIGRP, HSRP, DMVPN, Load Balancing and Wan Optimization.
    • Familiarity of or experience with some of the following:
    • GSM networks, telecommunications and satellite communications
    • Design and maintenance of log aggregation servers and SNMP server architecture
    • 2 + years of experience with servers, routers, firewalls, and switches with special emphasis on NXOS, Cisco IOS, PAN-OS, and Cisco ASA software
    • Experience in SNMP toolsets
    • Must be able to multitask and excel in a fast paced 24/7 environment
    • Detail oriented with excellent technical, verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong problem solving skills and works well under pressure.
    • Ability to collaborate with internal and external technology partners to ensure end to end quality of all products, services and systems; customer service focus
    • Due to ITAR requirements, US Citizenship is required
    • Some infrequent travel required
